Shannon Purcifer, 16, claims she shunned her prom after enduring 18 months of alleged intimidation by classmates who left her in tears due to name-calling as she battled bowel disease ulcerative colitis. But after her mum Claire Carstens posted an emotional picture online of Shannon in her white dress the night she was supposed to attend the do, friends and strangers have rallied round to organise an alternative prom.
