Growing up, college student, Oceane Maher (20) from Texas, USA was a keen runner and describes herself as always being ‘naturally very thin’. After hitting puberty, Oceane noticed she had gained weight and had become a slower runner. Despite being a healthy BMI, her mother, pointed out her weight gain, which sparked Oceane’s obsession with the size of her body which eventually led to her hospitalisation.
