Simplicity and comfort are two pillars that have underpinned Emma’s approach since the very beginning of her design journey. In her sportswear range last year, the mum-of-three emphasised her goal to design pieces that “looked really good but were functional” and the September collection reflects this too. Khaki-coloured utility pieces offer comfort and functionality – ideal for working from home or the office – and the utility-style dress (available in both black and khaki) is an easy-to-wear, transitional piece. “It’s such an easy dress to throw on when it’s warm with a pair of sandals… I’ll wear it anywhere, to the shops, on the school run, to a meeting – it’s perfect!” For slightly smarter occasions, Emma opts for the black co-ord. Though simple in design, it’s extremely versatile, and this time features a more covered, cap-sleeved top for cooler months. “For me, the black co-ord is that easy pick out of the wardrobe if I’m going somewhere and I need to look a bit smarter.” Having previously stated she feels comfortable and powerful in suits, it’s no surprise they’re making a comeback in her latest range. The biscuit-y camel and light pink tailored pieces ooze casual elegance and can be dressed up or down to suit the occasion. "favourite of mine is the camel suit… I love suits, mainly to wear with a trainer and a t shirt but I didn’t own one in this colour… we’ve gone quite 70s with shape and colour palette for this season.” While her top picks for the Spring range were the dresses, this time it’s the khaki and navy straight leg trousers that come out on top. “LOVE LOVE LOVE the relaxed straight leg trousers! I’d been looking for a pair of trousers in that cut for such a long time so instead of searching anymore, we’ve made them which is amazing!” Above all, comfort is echoed throughout the September collection, with soft fabrics and understated shades reflecting Emma’s overall philosophy as a designer: to create functional, flattering pieces that suit a range of different body shapes and sizes.
