Marshall as many collectors know, owned one of the most comprehensive and valuable sports memorabilia collections ever assembled, which was displayed in a museum-like setting. In 2019, Resolution Photomatching conclusively photo matched the jersey to the one worn by Jordan in a game against the Washington Wizards, held at the United Center in Chicago on April 7, 1998. Jordan signed the jersey in 2006 at his youth basketball camp and that signing was supervised and witnessed by a representative of Upper Deck. The white mesh jersey is lettered "Bulls" on the front and features the number "23" on the front and reverse. "Jordan" is lettered on the reverse directly above the number. All letters and numerals have been appliquéd in red on black tackle twill. As noted earlier, this jersey was worn by Jordan on April 7, 1998, in a game against the Washington Wizards. Jordan played 32:59 minutes in the contest and led all players in scoring with 30 points as the Bulls defeated the Wizards 103-85. Jordan was 11 for 21 from the floor, including one three-pointer, and made seven of his eight free-throw attempts. Jordan averaged 28.7 points per game that season to help lead the Bulls to a first place finish in the NBA Central Division. Jordan was even better in the postseason, averaging 32.4 points per game to help Chicago win its third consecutive World Championship. Jordan's efforts earned him his fifth regular-season MVP Award at season's end. He was also named the NBA Finals MVP for the sixth and final time. Jordan retired after the 1997-1998 season. Bidding began at $100,000.
