LIFE SIZED T-REX HEAD USED TO PROMOTE JURASSIC PARK CAN BE YOURS AS IT GOES UNDER THE HAMMER WITH PIX By Cally Brooks A life sized T-Rex dinosaur head used to promote the original Jurassic Park film in 1993 is up for sale. The head, which looks extremely realistic with the skin details and sharp teeth, had been sitting in a bar in Belfast for more than 20 years. But it's now gone up for sale and can be yours for less than £5,000. The T-Rex head was used to promote the first ever Jurassic Park film in 1993, with it being showcased in cinema lobbies around the country at the time. The life-sized fibreglass head measures five feet in length, and sits on a display stand at an impressive seven feet tall. Tyrannosaurus dinosaurs are one of the most well-represented and known about dinosaurs which roamed the earth more than 50 million years ago - and now you can have one in your living room. After their team expanding, the company has decided to sell the figure, which they named Terry, for an asking price of £4,997. Paul Fraser, owner of Paul Fraser Collectibles, which is selling the head, said: "As striking statement pieces go, I've never seen or sold anything like it - I'm pretty certain I never will again. "But when I first saw it, I grinned from ear to ear. "After decades of buying and selling rare items, I've learned that you only get one chance to own something unique and we actually kept the T Rex - who we called Terry - in our own offices for a while. "When Terry was delivered to the office, the sight of him literally stopped traffic. At least 10 people asked for their photo with him in the street before we'd even got him inside. "One of our accountants suffered a hernia in the process of helping to lift it into the office! "We'll be sad to see him go, and I want to make sure he ends up in a good home. "The sheer craftsmanship that went into making this piece is astounding, and it would not have been cheap. It would likely set you back five figures to have a new one made today". ENDS
