Cruel Dad Dumps Newborn Baby Girl Alongside Rubbish

These are the shocking images of a tiny newborn baby with her umbilical cord still attached who had been thrown away alongside the rubbish in China by her dad. The child was dumped next to a bin by her father, as CCTV footage later released by police clearly shows. The 24-year-old man, identified only by his surname Mr Zhang, is seen walking towards the rubbish bins in the early hours of the morning. Police were called when a street cleaner named Mr Chen raised the alarm about the abandoned baby. The street cleaner covered the tot in his high-visibility bib as he waited for the emergency services to arrive. The baby was then taken to hospital, and after looking at the footage the police identified and arrested Mr Zhang and his 21-year-old wife, identified only by her name Li. Police said they studied a large amount of security camera footage in order to find the dad. The pair have reportedly admitted to abandoning their daughter next to the pile of rubbish bins in Dongguan, which is in southern China's Guangdong Province at the end of last month. Dongguan Public Security Bureau said the couple were not home when police officers called to interview them and so they staked out their property, arresting the pair as they returned home from work earlier this week (https://bit.ly/33rc4CH). The pair admitted abandoning the child which had been born Wednesday last week but did not say why, and although the man remains under arrest, his wife has been released on bail. Both face charges of child abandonment which can see them jailed for up to five years. The baby girl has been handed over to the social services after being given a clean bill of health by medics.
