This is the moment a drunk woman is removed from a plane amid applause from fellow passengers after she got up to tell the whole plane that none of them, including her, really give "a f**k" about COVID-19. The incident happened aboard the VivaAerobus flight which was about to take off from the international airport of Cancun, a popular tourist destination in the southeastern Mexican state of Quintana Roo. The unidentified young woman wearing a green dress and a summer hat has been nicknamed Lady Coronavirus Cancun by national media. A video circulating on social networks shows the seemingly inebriated woman standing up in the aisle and taking off her mask to shout things out to people on the plane. The initial motives for her outbursts are not clear, but she can be seen filming one of the airline staff, who seems to have done something to upset her. A loud chorus of “good luck with that” is sung from the rest of the passengers and the woman responds by dancing along, to the chuckles of many. The woman then rips off her mask and says in a slurred voice: “I am going to tell you one thing. You are all here because you couldn’t care less about COVID. None of us gives a f**k about COVID. We all come here to get on it and then at the same time we say: ‘Oh my God, I didn't do anything wrong '. “We literally couldn’t give a sh*t about COVID, don’t you agree? So why judge me, why?” After several minutes, security guards from the airport board the plane and come over to where the woman is now seated and tell her she must leave the plane. The aeroplane aisle is now filled with staff trying to reason with the woman to leave the plane, who finally gets up and gets her bag from the overhead compartment before being escorted off the plane to applause from passengers. According to Sin Embargo, the flight was delayed by the incident, although there have been no further details about whether she has been arrested or charged. VivaAerobus are yet to provide further information on the incident and it is unclear where the flight was travelling to, although some netizens have claimed it was destined for the Mexican city of Monterrey. According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Mexico has registered 443,813 cases of COVID-19 and 48,012 related deaths. (T4 / ends)
