Though they have recently won podium positions, their times are not quick enough to qualify for the 2019 World Athletic Championship in the Qatari capital Doha which will take place from the 27th September to 6th October. When images of the two came out netizens accused them of really being men claiming their facial characteristics, as well as body-type, are that of men. Netizen 'CHUCK_N0RRIS' wrote: "At first sight they look like men, tests will confirm if they are women." And 'bora-bora' said: "I thought it was a picture of the two winners with their boyfriends when I first saw that picture (of the relay team)." While 'olicurichi' said: "It is the mixed relay event and the male components are Tong and Liao."
